APS StampShow 2009
David L. Lawrence Convention Center • Pittsburgh, PA

Stamps bring another learning tool into the classroom — providing a unique, hands-on learning experience and offering challenges to students’ creativity.

Today’s teachers need standards-based lessons that meet the needs of all their learners using hands-on methods. Stamps in the Classroom training will accomplish all of those things. An experienced educator and stamp collector will share:

• an introduction to the fascinating hobby of stamp collecting (philately)
• lesson plans & reproducibles to use in the classroom,
• resources to enhance lessons in every subject
• ongoing training and resources through the All-Star Stamp Club
• resources for students beyond the classroom via the Young Stamp Collectors of America
• information on the world’s largest stamp club — the American Philatelic Society
• a laptop computer will be helpful, but is not required

Cost: $25. Attendance is limited. A register form will be available online at a later date or call Gretchen Moody at 814-933-3810.
